Veiws on picasso's

I owned a 1.6 petrol model, I found it to be a very versatile vehicle, comfortable and reasonably well refined. I along with my family used it to travel on a few trips overseas to France and Switzerland, it handled these trips without a hitch. Mind you, we did buy it brand new( 53 plate) and were covered by the manufacturers warranty which we had to use several times over the course of ownership. However faults started becoming more frequent which was okay although a bit of a hassle. It was when the warranty expired that I didn`t feel too confident with it and sadly despite it only being three and a half years old and covering just 42000 miles I decided to get rid of it and go for a Vauxhall Zafira. Which is a fine car, no problems as yet but just doesn`t have same versatility as my picasso. If the build quality had been better and it didn`t suffer so many stupid niggly faults i would probably have kept it.0

I'm sorry Lauren, but you asked....
Its not only French, but its a Citroen. I wouldn't go near one.
I don't know what your budget is, but surely there are others out there that are much much better.
Maybe if you let people on here know what you can afford, they can look out for you and advise.Genie

It got a lot of plus points, french electrics in not one of them!! I wouldn't take the chance.0

For similar money you could have a bomb proof Honda CRV or Toyota Rav4...
However, I agree with the Picasso being highly versatile. Never had many major issues with the hundreds that I've sold. Silly electrical things, but that comes with anycar.
As with most cars - the older you go, the worse they get! They seem to get problems built up and passed on! Be warned...0 -
had an 04 1.6Hdi since last year that have had no issues with whatsoever(apart from a wife driving it into things)
100x better than the vauxhall we had from new previously in terms of reliability0 -
I bought an 03 plate 2.0 HDi last Friday , I love it but obviously have not owned it long enough for any faults to start to appear .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

I have a Citreon Xsara hatchback 2002 reg, and I have never had any problems since i have had it. Now done 97k without any issues at all, apart from the regular stuff. My dad has a Citreon Xsara Picasso ands its been excelllant. Very useful as its got a massive boot when you take the back seats out and its obviously high to. They seem as good as any other car.£4000 in 2011 - £48.88/£40000

What kind of electrical thing tend to go wrong? Will they stop the car from going?0

I have owned citroens all of my life, i covered 65k in 12 months in a xantia and only one one small problem
My citroens have proved to be ultra reliable
Most people moan about citroens being cheap, but they also forget that they are cheap to buy and run0 -
