  • Hello
The Holiday Inn St.Nicholas Circle is at the top of the High Street. I've stayed there a few times and it's really nice. Unfortunately no free parking, you take the ncp ticket to reception and they give you money off.

    Hi
as somone who lives in Leicester I would say that the Holiday Inn express is the best location for football. You are literally in the stadium car park and you are five minutes walk away from the bars on Braunstone Gate/Narborough Road.

Holiday Inn itself is also very central you can walk into the city (not the best place for drinks- full of short skirts and tacky clubs) but you can also walk to the bars on the areas I have mentioned.

Alternatively if you want somewhere nice to stay the Belmont Hotel always does weekend deals; on late room £75 for a saturday and £50 for a Friday

    Hi, im from Leics.

Personally if you dont mind walking for 10-15 minutes id stay at the Belmont hotel. its about 15 minutes walk from the stadium and 5 mins from the bars and shops of the city centre. Hotel has parking too.

As for bars in the city, head for Belvoir St (prounounced beaver) there are few nice bars here (the terrace, Fat cats) plus on this street is an italian, mexican, just round the corner tapas, italian etc!

thanks Suzy, bit late now but i ended up booking up the trave lodge, £55!! should of booked in advance, but after reading about the area of the Ibis and Campinile (spelling) being rough I decided against it!

which would you recommend drinking before the football? I hear there is a casino
next to the trave lodge that could be interesting :S

    oh right!

well if you are staying at the travelodge id go to Braunstone Gate, its on route practically to the football ground (o-bar is my fav!) There is also The Quay which is just round the corner from braunstone gate and again slightly nearer to the ground.

I ve not been to that casino, looks pretty impressive from the outside though when its lit up.

Yes - The same development. Been there a few times and its in a great location, very central but there is a huge amount of work going on in the city at the moment as you will see due to the extension of the shires which is next to the travelodge so be prepared!!! Worth a visit to the Gala if you have time, get your free £10 if you join and some free drinks :T Very nice in there
I spend my time between London/Leicester/Peterborough and like Leicester the most for some reason apart from the roads, I swear its easier to drive in London  Some nice bars nearby and your not far from the footie ground, would need a taxi though.

thanks for all the replies. where is the best place to drink before football? i dont mind a walk, even if it is a few miles so that should be ok in relation to the ground.
