Recommend Hotel in Leicester this weekend

Options
Hello, please can someone recommend a hotel in leicester city centre. I would like it to have free parking and be near to any restaurants bars etc.

Also if its in walking distance to the football ground that would be good but not desperate for this.

any help appreciated

thanks

Stay at The Campanile. I have stayed here twice in last 8 weeks and at £60 including breakfast I think its a bargain. There is free secure parking at the hotel and its only a 10 minute walk to shops ( I know coz of wife ) The hotel is brand new and very clean with an excellent breakfast in the morning. The taxi books a taxi for us to go out, head for the bars at Narmborough road as they are very good.
Only thing is I don't know how far away from the football ground

Football ground is on the other side of the City. 10 to 15 mins by taxi.

    Try the holiday inn express:

    1. LEICESTER-WALKERS STADIUM
    FILBERT WAY, RAW DYKES ROAD
    LEICESTER, LE2 7FQ
    ENGLAND

Literally a bottles throw away from the grounds. Prices appear to be in the £69 per night range.

Not stayed there myself so cant comment on quality / VFM but it is a newish hotel so should be decent.

everyone else agree Campanile is the best value? does anyone know the best place to book this through, as I said best price I have found is 47.58 room only.

Ive edited this post after reading some review on trip advisor for campanile? should I just ignore them or is it really that bad?

    any other advice appreciated,

Campanile is not in a great area for drinks, meal or a walk. I'd say the surrounding area is a little rough  I've stayed at the Travelodge City, near the Gala Casino, and this is more central.

Depends whether you are into nightlife......The centre of the City has a number of nightclubs and can get very rowdy especially at weekends.

Depending on the food you like to eat, Belgrave Road is 'the golden mile' loads of curry houses etc along there, afraid I cannot comment on hotels, I live there so never use them.............I know there is a new one in the Centre....by the way the City centre is under attack just now, its being made into a traffic free zone......shops are okish......Debenhams and another of the big multiples in the Shires, Fenwicks on Market Street. Information Beaureu is opposite the Town Hall in Every Street, M & S in Gallowtree Gate. There is also a nice resturant in Market Street, Newmans I think its called....there is a website where you can get more info and possibly more about the various hotels in the City.

I have just looked to see where the Campanile is and would be very reluctant to stay there area,I am not suprised the Campanile is cheap........you would be better looking at the city travel lodge.

The City football ground is on Raw Dykes Road...... on the other side of the City, not much there........close to the hospital, watch the one way syatem for traffic round there. Morrisons store and a cinema complex at the top of Raw Dykes Road.

It depends what Bristol is like on a Saturday night!!! The City Centre is not a place I would want to be on a Saturday night and certainly not after midnight. Nor would I want to be wandering round the area where the Campanile is situated.
