((((((((Big Hugs))))))) so sorry about your little one :-((0

Big Hugs to you at this sad time when you have had to part with a dearly loved pet. It is the last loving thing we can do for our animals but it is soooo painful for us, well done for being a true friend
I have sent you on a journey to a land free from pain, not because I did not love you, but because I loved you too much to force you to stay.0 -
I just want to say a huge thankyou to you all for being so kind.
TBH I didn't expect anyone to reply to my post - I just needed to air what was going on in my head.
It fills me with dread to know that I will be going through this again in the future. We now have 4 doxies - and I am really paranoid when they are running around in the garden that they may hurt their backs
Maybe I just shouldn't have dogs. I'm good at the loving them/spoiling them part, but I'm rubbish at coping when they are gone.0 -
5 dogs - we all experience that when we lose our pets.
I had it a few years ago - we had two cats which we'd had from 6 weeks old, the tom cat lived to 11 years and had feline leukemia, and the tabby lived to 13 years before old age caught up with her and she had a seizure in our living room - i can still remember it all vividly and it was 6 years ago now. It never quite leaves you so dont let that put you off animals - the loving is the best part but the other is ineviatble in the end. Be comforted by the fact you know she had a happy end (meaning that it was done totally through love with her best interests at heart)
Im am sorry to hear about your loss and just remember do take time to grieve, but that you have four other little poochies running round who need their mummy too.
millions of hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Time to find me again0 -
Don’t Grieve for me for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh, yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

You have a special place, Dear Lord
That I know you'll always keep.
A special place reserved for dogs,
To peacefully fall asleep.
A place with fluffy pillows,
And a yard for hiding bones,
With maybe a little babbling creek,
That rushes over stones.
With wide green fields and flowers,
For those who never knew
Of running, playing freely
Under sky of perfect blue.
Lord, I know you keep this special place,
And so, to you I pray
For one oh so special dog
Who came to you today.
He was full of strength and love,
And so very, very wise.
The puppy look he once had,
This morning left his eyes.
He will be dearly missed, Lord,
This special love of mine.
But now, he'll romp and play
In your land that's so divine.
Speak to my baby softly, please
With a hug and warm hello.
He's a special gift to you, Dear Lord
From me - who loves him so.

Thankyou. Those poems are beautiful and it was so kind of you to post them : )
I have my girl's ashes now, so at least I feel she is back home and close to me. I want my ashes to be scattered with hers, when the time comes.
I know we'll be together again one day.0 -

Very sorry to hear your story. We recently came very close to having to put one of our kittens down which shook us to the core, and we've only had them a matter of months. What it must be like after 7 years I can't imagine.
I'm sure she's waiting patiently for you at the gates.0
