Dachshund put to sleep : (

I have had to have my little dog put to sleep. I had her for 7 years, and I feel like I have lost my right arm.
She always knew when and where I was in pain - she would lick my hands or my legs in just the place that hurt me most ( I have MS ), and I know that it was her way of saying ' I wish you were not poorly '. She was my soulmate.

If anyone is thinking of having a dachshund, please think very carefully. My girl was amazing, a kind, loyal, funny, wonderful soul. However, dashies have very delicate backs. We were very careful but it did no good - they are just not 'designed' well.

Don't know what to say except 'so sorry'. Don't apologise for your post. Sometimes it helps to post how you're feeling. There are lots of animal lovers on here and we know how heartbreaking it is. Sending you a hug.

I felt so sad when I read your post.
My thoughts are with you. I have lost loved pets in the past and clearly remember the pain.
Hard though it is, please try to take strength from the fact that people care.

Hello 5dogs - big hugs from someone who loves dogs and is dreading going through what you have gone through. I have dobermanns - I actually wanted a dachshund bu OH was in charge and got dobermanns instead - same colour I guess!

You must grieve the way you feel best and hopefully there will come a day when you can smile when you think of her. No doubt she had a lovely caring home and you could have done no more for her.

Loosing a pet is an awful time, im very sorry for your loss.

We lost a very dear family pet some years ago and its still with me now.
