Buying a PC

If you are thinking of buying a PC from PC World, make sure you have a look around. There are 3 stores in the chain that are trialling a new method of pricing for the next 3 - 4 weeks where they will price the base unit and the monitor seperately.
The base unit price in these stores (Staples Corner, Enfield and one other) will be higher than the rest of the chain. If you go to the smaller stores and want the base unit on its own it will be cheaper.
Just a heads up.
Thanks

or you could nail them to the wall with some serious bartering and get them down to a 2% profit margin...

I have tried that. Normally they only work a discount if you take their PCP service. You have to sign a DD which you can cancel after 2 days and they will give that for free normally for the first month and if you take it they will organise some sort of discount like a mouse or something for free.
The bigger stores have so much volume that they wont be interested in giving huge dicounts on things like software. They would rather save their discount levels.Scrimping and saving!0
