Tesco Phone/O2 Sim?
Comments

Yes it should work no problems. Tesco Mobile is run off O2, Tesco do not have their own operators code, they use O2 so the phone won't be able to distinguish.0

We tried a new O2 sim in an existing Tesco phone Nokia 1100 and it didn't work, we had to get it unlocked in the end. Not sure if this is the same for all Tesco phones but it was for ours.£2 savers club - started 28/12/06 now have £3020

It's totally normal sadly - because the Mobile Network ID of O2 is different to that of Tesco (even though they're on the same physical network). Easy to get a Nokia unlocked for free though. There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't
In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice0 -
You can put a Tesco sim in an O2 phone, I've got a Tesco sim in an old phillips c12 bt cellnet u phone, it even comes up with 'bt cellnet tesco' on the screen, I even topped up the tesco sim with an O2 voucher which worked fine! Tesco runs off O2.0
