ISA Saver Direct ENQUIRY ONLY SERVICE
Amount left to invest * £3,000.00Balance £0.00Current rate NIL
Now i thought with it being online i could just transfer the 3 grand into the savers account, but obviously thats not the case.So can anyone tell me how i do go about it?
You will be able to do that.
Sounds like the account isn't fully opened yet. Have you still to verify your ID yet? Best to phone up Halifax and get the account fully opened.0 -

You can do it easily ... if the £3k is within a Halifax account you can see online? You just click on the 'transfer money' link (left side of page) whilst you're within the account you want to transfer from. And it should give you a drop down list ... and the ISA account should be in that list. You just select it ... and then put the value you want to transfer in the box below.
If it's not on the list - or the money is outside Halifax .... then, as Jem suggests, I'd ask them. The 'enquiry only' is likely because you haven't done the initial funding. But as a result of that it may not be displaying the Sort Code / Account number you need to make a transfer from outside. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Well it does give me the sort code and account number ......i just didnt wanna paste it in here.Yeah i can transfer money between my cardcash (which im gonna get closed) and my current account but my ISA is not an option on the drop down list. The letter i got confirming i opened the account etc. made no mention of having to 'confirm' anything but yeah i will give them a phone. What should i say?
This sounds a bit silly but could it have anything to do with the fact its a Halifax Cardcash and Bank Of Scotland Current Account and Halifax ISA Saver Direct....even though their all owned under the same umbrella?0 -

They do all come under the same umbrella and there will be no problem with transferring.
This often happens with HBOS - they forget to remove the "flag" once ID has been checked or whilst it's waiting to be checked. That's what "Enquiry Only" means.
Phone them up and they can sort it out for you.0 -
Get that used to seeing it ... you sometimes miss the obvious.:o But all my Halifax ISAs show 'Enquiry only service' .. and they're certainly 'live' and range from 5 years to 1 year (nearly) old. Equally they don't show on any of the drop down lists for funding. But as mine are all 'fixed' rate .. the latter part is probably reasonable .. as you can't add further funds.
Yours is probably OK (if you're a long standing customer you probably didn't have to provide ID .... I didn't for any of them) .... but I would have thought (I funded all mine as they were opened) a 'variable' would show on the drop down list. Just give them a ring ... but I do suspect it's in a fit state to be funded. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Bit of an update.I clicked on the transfer money tab from the left rather than using the main page and the message says:
Access to this account is currently limited to 'Enquiry only'. This is because the account is either closed, closing, or access is restricted.
Therefore, it is not possible to transfer funds from this account at this time.
No idea why so ill need to phone them.0 -

Mine did when I had my Direct ISA with Halifax up until a few months ago - always felt it was too easy to select the ISA account to put money into when I didn't want to last year as I had gone for a Maxi ISA.
It will be a mistake at HBOS end - either that or OP opened a fixed rate ISA by mistake.0 -
Whats the rate got to do with me putting money into the account?0

Fixed rate ISA's usually only allow the initial deposit, and the funds have to stay there for the period of the 'fix'.
http://www.halifax.co.uk/isas/taxfreesavings.asp
However the Fixed ones by halifax require an inital deposit of £3000, so its pretty certain this isn't the account you opened, so doesn't apply in your case..0 -
Well the account i opened is in the link you just gave and does say UP TO £3.000 a year....But i have the letter i got and it says.
