Drive Assist - 50/50 claim problem
Comments

close! I do work with both insurers and the likes of Helphire.
I am just merely putting a balanced view across. I think DACouch claimed that Drive Assist charge hundreds of pounds a day, but the costs they charge are agreed with the insurers and available for everyone to view on the link i posted earlier. Its for everyone on here to make their own minds up and not be influenced by you or my thoughts on these companies.0 -
The "balance" goes awry when we hear the stories of customers mislead over the deals (including increased excesses, massive bills etc).
Instead of just blanket defending, why not help out when these cases come to light?
There's no doubt their charges are excessive compared to normal pre payment car hire, and we all accept that credit has to be paid for.
The trouble is there are a lot of middle men who also get a cut from these charges!0 -

Hi Quentin
I will try too, have only just recently joined MSE though.
I agree, too many middle men there is a saying in the industry, too many snouts in the tough.0 -
Thanks for the info Dacouch. The garage my insurer arranged that has taken my car has given me a courtesy car now (confirmed that had no relationship w/ DA). To be honest having never been in an accident or having to make a claim I wasn't aware I could do what you suggested. I always just assumed the insurance companies do all the communication between each other (Sorry if that sounds naive:o).
I will say this has been an eye opening experience. Yes Christopher7 there are too many snouts. It seems the insurer wants money from all sides to do very little work for over inflated premiums. I am fast learning they profit off our money and our ignorance and are happy to let these third parties prosper at the expense of customer satisfaction as long as they're showing them the money!0 -
Your Insurers earns circa £150 for recommending you to the credit hire and around another £350 per injury claim. You can see why they don't suggest you go to the other Insurer for a hire car.0

Christopher7 what happened to your last post about credit hire, I was looking forward to answering it, did you delete it? If so play fair, I would love to answer it0

Not sure, which post are you referring too?
Anyhow, we can continue this debate forever. You have your views on credit hire and I have mine. The idea of my postings was to give a balanced view on credit hire, which in your postings you have painted a very dark picture of.0 -
The one you posted about me being aware of the Abi guideline prices and how I should have pointed these out. How there was probably some reason the caused by the policyholder that resulted in them being billed for the credit hire in the link I posted earlier.
It appeared on the other thread and then disappeared0 -

Reread all your posts on credit hire.
According to your opinion there are no problems, no question of customers getting big bills, and generally it's a rosy garden.
Whatever you might say, that isn't a balanced view on this murky part of the "ambulance chaser" side to the insurance claim business.
Plenty of other problems across the net - though as you are closely linked to credit hire companies you know that!0
