Don't know if it's anything I've done (for good measure I also contacted domainpeople.com who are listed as the registrar for this and the elcidelectonics.com domain too), but the eccostores.com site has disappeared. Whoo hoo!

They're up and running again at http://tlmbestbuys.com - so another scam shopping site to avoid.

This post seems to pop up quite high in Google when eccostores.com, elcidelectronics.com and tlmbestbuys.com are searched, so I thought I'd post some screenshots just in case anyone comes a-looking.

They list the Sony KDL46XBR5 for $1350 + free shipping + 0 tax. Typically, this TV sells for about $2500. Wow indeed!!

Please post any info you get from Paypal/VISA/BBB etc.

This is the report of someone who bought something from them in 2007 through one of their previous sites - http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r18838289-Scam-imageplasmacom

All of the logo owners that have replied so far (Paypal, Secure Trading and Mastercard) have confirmed that they have no record of the site. Secure Trading said they'd passed the details on to their legal department as the use of their logo was unauthoerised - so not a good sign.

I'd say $1350 is a lot to pay for nothing, even if it is half-price

Thought I'd upload the homepage of matershop.com, in the hope that it'll prevent people getting ripped off.

And matershop.com is down, whoo hoo! I'm quite enjoying playing the caped crusader, following the sites as they spring up and slapping them back down again.

Big thanks to 34sp.com who was the host for both tlmbestbuys.com and matershop.com, and who removed each site within 24 hours of my telling them about them.

This posting is getting referenced by others as well (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1020&message=27044887&changemode=1), so I'm going to keep on posting here as it seems to be helping warn people away.
