One thing you should watch out for with these Vodafone offers is that you are required to take a brand new number, i.e. you can't port:

"Prices subject to connection to a Vodafone Limited airtime contract and requires a UK bank account. Price is only available to customers taking a new mobile number and not available to customers who are transferring an existing mobile number from another service provider or network or upgrading an existing mobile number. Prices are subject to change without prior notice. All prices include VAT."

I telephoned and subscribed a little over a month ago and had my number ported over from o2 with no trouble at all.

And yes, stop the clock is well worth having, saved me a fortune.

I'm not sure about 0871 numbers i'm afraid. I never phone them, but 0844 numbers are as low as 1p on onetel, although it does depends on the exact number, as they do go up to at least 5p

Was this one of the special online tariffs? I'm only following what they have wrote on the website.

  • Yes, I'd be interested to know the details of that too, seeing as I'd probably want to keep my number (although it's not exactly a valuable one - it has 666 in it!)

Yes it was based on the online tariffs.
I just wanted to know if i could port my number over and they said as long as i have my pac code "no problem"

I actually got a slightly better deal than online as the package was exactly the same except they gave me the K750i free instead of having to pay £20 for it.

200 minutes doesn't sound like much, but with Stop The Clock, that turns into 4000 off peak minutes - or 2800 off peak minutes and 60 on peak minutes, if (like me) you make few calls on peak every month.

Don't forget that you're not paying for the first three minutes per hour, you're paying for the first three minutes per call (of up to an hour). If all your calls are six minutes long, 200 "normal" minutes will only be worth 400 "stop the clock" minutes!

    EDIT:
BTW, I'm on a twelve month contract, and when I last called Vodafone they actually offered to add "Stop the Clock" to my tariff. Might be worth giving them a call to ask for a freebie!

Make sure they haven't extended your contract to an 18 month one by doing so.

just to let people know it is also available on PAYG on smartplus..you have to phone them up on 2345 and tell them to add it for free

smartstep users will have to pay £7.50 for it to be added i think

    I thought Onetel had increased there 0844 charges by10%,eg 1p now 1.10p ,5p now 5.50p.
