quick question for you regarding sky..
are the music channels part of the standard packages or can i get rid of them and save money? only decent thing on them is Pimp My Ride0 -
Penny-Pincher!! wrote:Is there anywhere I can find the new price lists? We have sky+ and currently on the £35 a month package, which I think is the sky movie world with family.
The new 'mixes' are detailed HERE and the new prices are detailed HERE.
Join me, cut your costs - delete a couple of 'mixes'.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Going by the list, I can take 2 "mixes" for £15, pay Sky another £10 for my plus box and save £11 a month!
O.k, at the mo I'm on £35 family pack movies no sport, but seeing that for a while, no real good movies are on, I could afford to lose the movie channel and go down to Blockbuster/Postal rental service for my movie fix as and when my 3 year old allows me;) Lawe :wave:0 -

However, do I understand correctly that, if you cease your Sky subscription and don't pay Sky the £10 Sky+ fee, your Sky+ box becomes just a receiver - and you cannot record or play back previous recordings?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. That is correct. Don't pay Sky, your plus becomes a zombie. Lawe :wave:0 -
Well, yesterday I bit the bullet and gave my one month's notice, so as from 2nd September we shall just have whatever the free channels are....0

MY sports package has gone up from £33 to £36. Tied into a + contract until end of October but seriously considering cancelling then.
I think sky+ is great but I am always recording terrestial channels cos sky channels are naff. I love my football but I can easy go down to the pub for the ga,es invloving my club.
I am going to research PVR recorders with twin tuners instead.0 -

Got rid of Sky a few months ago and sold digibox. Bought a Freeview box with the proceeds. Now that it has E4 it makes it a much better deal. Haven't missed Sky at all!0
