Hi all,

We are not on a water meter and get billed twice annually for the water service. Today I received a bill which included a unmetered water charge for march 2007 - feb 2008 which they forgot to bill last year. The bill for 2008 - 2009 include this charge.

What I am wanting to find out is can they leagally charge me for their £200 mistake? Surely they should have picked up this mistake on the second bill they sent through and made us pay then.

Any help or info would be very much appreciated although I think I will probably be peeing into the wind.

CHeers,
James

    Welcome to the forum.

It is like any other bill, if you have had the goods/service you have to pay.

If your solicitor made a mistake and forgot to bill you, you are still liable for his charges for up to six years - same with the tax man etc etc.
