I wasn't saying it wouldn't work fine, I'm sure it would. When compared to a slightly more expensive monitor though you would notice a difference.

As it happens, the unit I got does have DVI, has brightness & contrast metrics comparable to any of the Sharp units, but falls down in response time (only 20ms)...but that's fine for what I need it for. I wouldn't claim it's up to the standard of the Sharp units, but for me there's no way I'd pay the extra for the brand name and a difference that my eyesight would barely notice. Obviously, you would : fair enough, it's your money.

I have recently bought 2 Samsung TFT monitors and am very pleased with them.

I shopped around and found the best prices from:

    www.komplett.co.uk

They have a good selection and currently advertising a 17" for £149.

    Regards,
    Art.
  • Gotta agree with Art here - had 5 TFT monitors in my time, and the two (1 15 incher, 1 17 incher) that keep going and that are most pleasant to interact with are both Samsung (ok one is XIOD - a division of Samsung). A1 panels, A1 performance and pretty good price too.

From what I've read the Relisys TL795 is a very good budget tft. It wins the Value award in the PC Pro labs test for 17" tft's.

    Will set you back £158.
