Possible to port old number from contract to PAYG?

I've recently managed to escape from a dodgy 3 contract and phone and am looking around at my options. I've got my PAC details and they're still current. Only thing, my circumstances have changed and I'm no longer relying on my mobile as my main (or even regular) phone, so am thinking of moving to PAYG as I can't be bothered with claiming cashbacks etc.
The only thing I'd miss would be my old number ~ is it a goner or does any one allow you to do this?

Thanks, L.

  • If you mean transfer your number across, then yes it is. I did it from a Vodafone contract to PAYG (a few years ago), and am sure it's possible across networks - tho it may take a couple of days and no doubt they will try to charge........
