    Back from school.. DS1 has £20 half frommy sis and half from my MIL.. she posted his card.. what kind of grandmother posts a card to her grandson with money in when they live 10 minutes drive away?!

    OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! horrible thought.. SIL will be wanting to come round later no doubt.. I am pleased she wants to come see him on his birthday but she is REALLY hard work.. she is one of those people who doesn't know how to do conversation and it is PAINFUL to make it.. we have those long awkward silences lol

    :rolleyes: Anyone have any info on Freecycle ?

    I hate throwing stuff, my local charity shop are picky about what they take, and me and eBay don't get on all the time !

    I wanted to have a look, but I need a Yahoo thing !! More things to join !

    Is it any good ? Is it simple ? Can anyone recommend ? Thanks in advance.:beer:

    LOL, we're not related are we? She sounds just like one of my SIL's (Hubby is one of 8 from his real mum, plus he was adopted so is one of 3 from his 2nd family:eek: a bit complicated. I have 2 Mil's!!!) SIL came to stay with us for a week and i nearly topped myself, is really hard work!

    NSN - I tend to use www.gumtree.co.uk and post under 'freebies.' I've always got rid of stuff v quickly. I just cant get into freecycle, its too complicated for me lol

    I moderate a local group so would have to say I find it great. Yes you need to sign up to Yahoo, but you can choose whether to receive every message as they are posted, or on a daily digest or no messages etc.

    I have given away a varied assortment - children's things, books, videos, plants, fencing, trellis panels, curtains, bedding, pushchairs, ride-ons, fishtank, stick insects (birth bulge!) and a duplo toolo tool which was desperately wanted! Mostly it goes well, and I've met some lovely people - occasionaly you get no-shows, no replys and rudeness but that is real life I'm afraid.

    I've been lucky enough to acquire - rolls of old paper for my Mr Maker mad child, plants, garden tools, office chairs. And when my pc power lead blew - one lovely freecycler drove around to me there and then to hand deliver one.

    It is idiot proof.. even I can do it!! It depends on how busy your area one is.. when I joined ours it had 18 members.. but it has really taken off in the last year and is buzzing.. definitely worth a shot!

    Don't mention siblings.. I have..

    5 sisters... and 4 brothers ..

    2 of my brothers are not related to the other 2 who are only half related anyway.

    2 of my sisters were born 5 WEEKS apart and a nephew a month younger than the youngest one.. his aunt.

    My youngest sister is not related to my youngest brother and 2 of my sisters are not related to another 2 but they are all related to me and the other sister (who is deceased)

    I have never seen 1 of my brothers or one of my sisters.

    My oldest sibling is 48 and my youngest is 18.

    I have a niece who is the same age as one of my sisters and they are not related. The same niece is 4 years older than her aunt who is my youngest sister and my youngest sister is the same age as her other nephew

    Oh.. have to add this.. 2 of my brothers and 2 of my sisters have a younger brother who is not my brother!!

    Shall I shut up now????????
