We have never been great at keeping on top of everything, to ensure tidyness for a while now. When we shared a flat/house thingy with 2 other people it was easier as A) The was no room to maike mess and
you had to keep your bits tody in the communal areas to be nice to others.
Then we moved out to our first flat, and that sudden expansion of space, from having 1 room of your own, ro rooms made making a mess so much easier. And then we spend a day each weekend tidying up, wondering where our weekend had gone!
Whilst we were in hopsital for the birth I had the inlaws keeping our place ticking over, and the MiL stayed for about a week after, and helped me get into a routine of tiding a alittle bit, but all the time, and for the 5 weeks after he was born (about 3 weeks on our own in total) I managed to keep on top. But we ha someone stay with us for a few days, and I'd been a little run-down and as I was going to work this morning, I relaised that things were getting on top of us again - No hoovering done, kitchen needed a wipte, dining table was hording stuff, meaning we couldn't eat at it. We need to get back on top of things again! And I must get into a good routine - and this should help!
Tonight the routine begins again - Kitchen first, and will make lunch for us both (me for work, OH to have in fridge ready to grab and eat, in case she has a bad day with Alfie -been lucky enough for leftovers for lunch 2 days in a row) as I cook dinner, and clean everything down. & Hoover Living room
Wednesday: Living room full tidy & hoover (with the dog it needs constant hoovering anyway!)
Thursday: Bathroom
Friday: Bedrooms
Between the two of us, we should be able to do it, so as to leave minimal work to be done on the weekend - so we can spend some time together! And even if she has a bad week with Alfie, I should still be able to do it - I am determined to do so!! I'll let you folks know how it all starts off....!!0 -
Just as suspected - wasted trip to the drs.
Not really willing to do anything - it is probably a virus, and as he is drinking, just keep feeding him bland stuff and hope for the best. We have had no soiled nappies since 8:15 this morning, and he wolfed down a jam sarnie and a kinder bueno. Plus, we have had 2 lots of barney DVD, and the living room is in uproar. Stupid nursery policies. I still don't believe he is really that ill.
The dr says i have to get a sample in case it is bacterial, and if it doesn't clear up, go back as it could be a food intolerance, which to be honest i doubt very much.
in fact, he is a very healthy boy - so how come i can't leave him and be in work with my y10s who have an exam tomorrow.
If i manage to get him to have a nap in a bit i will try and get some of the stuff done that i need to. At the moment he isn't looking sleepy, but i will keep my fingers crossed.0 -
Tashja thanks so much, with the power of positive thought from everyone on here tomorrow will be that little bit easier.
Been and taken flowers to DH and kept a couple of yellow roses to pin on my jacket each day. Yellow was DH's fave colour
Michelle sending hugs to you and Charlie, how frustrating for you. Hope things improve soon.
Lunch :coffee: for those that want one and cheese sarnies on the side in a few mins, am going to watch neighbours with mineOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
All washing dried, folded and put away
My house smells lovely - the Asda shopping came. The delivery lady noticed the leaking bottles of toilet cleaner and refunded those. After she had gone I found the broken egg (only one not too bad). And then. Then I found the bottle of washing up liquid with the top snapped off. All over the potatoes, dry cat food and two packets of batteries. The cardboard on the batteries packs is absolutely soaked in washing up liquid - anybody know if they are OK to use?
Anyway I spoke to my nice friend in India and I've got loads of money being refunded. Most of it was salvagable (sp?) although I've only got about an inch of washing up liquid, but I still had to clean everything up and sort it out.
Tired but quietly pleased!0 -
Tiddles now deposited in her nest and I have the little heater on in here as it is FREEZING.. not helped by the fact Tiddles broke the cat flap so I have a great gaping hole in the back door... BBBRRRRRRR
I am going to do my 4 ebay listings and then go attack the kitchen.. I need some socks too.
The WM has been reloaded.. th eother one hasn't finished yet.. but 1 of the boys duvets is in getting cleaned!! I was going to sling both in the one machine but decided they wouldn't be cleaned properly so am putting htem in singularly.

Sounds great!! what did they do throw it up your path??
The batteries will be fine.. make sure they are totally dry before using them though as they may short out whatever you put them in!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I've got the batteries on some kitchen roll on the window sill in the sun. They were a bit slimy but I reckon they will be OK. The shopping comes in bags and the bags are put in crates so I think it must have been all the stuff in one crate that got covered.0

Oh Dear! have been playing around on the computer instead of tacking the kitchen. Naughty me - slap my wrists!
Washing is already in the drier so suppose I've already started.
Now got less than an hour to do my jobs in the kitchen before my sweet little sleeping (very snotty-nosed) angel gets up!
Platinum Horse - Good Luck - my day 1 didn't go too bad and we still have a very tidy lounge and hall.
cha97michelle - hope your little one feeling better - we had about 4 months of DD2 being poorly with one thing after another but fortunately I work in the evening so didn't have to have time off work - would have been a nightmare had I worked in the day as I'd never have been there!
Anyway - less chat, more chores!0 -
