  • Fantastic card mumoftwo, I love the inside - the paper is lovely, and the hanging jewels look gorgeous.
  • Arts and carfts is definately my thing. Unfortunately it took over my whole house! One of the best ways to get into it is to watch those card making programs on SKY. They we're really helpful. Also you might be able to pick up recommended books cheap from Amazon. I found the best cards we're the simple ones. But beware card toppers can be expensive, so I recycle old Xmas, Easter, Birthday and Anniversary Cards to keep the costs down. Hope this helps ;-)
  • Well I just thought I would pop on and share my complete disaster with you all before I throw it in the bin. Not what I was planning it to look like and I haven't even finished it, and I think I won't bother again lol ... Guess I will be off into town in the morning to buy my son a birthday card.

Right now I am off to throw it in the bin and start a sock monkey to see if it will help lighten my mood!

  • Oh don't throw it away, is there nothing you don't like that can't be salvaged?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • I think it just looks a complete mess. I was hoping to get a nice effect and used printed out star wars and also the characters in the middle and the darth vader on the front. I think it looks cheap, tacky and like a 2 year old made it so the best place for it is to be filed in the bin. Sorry but I really am not happy with it as you probably guessed.

On a brighter note anyone know of any shops that sell star wars cards?

    mumoftwo - brilliant card !:T

rusty - don't bin your card..........if you're not happy with the inside pop up bit, cut the front of the card off and put it on another card..........you can always create a different middle of the card..:j

mumoftwo - that card is beautiful I absolutely love it.

rusty - don't be so hard on yourself. could you not rearrange it using the bits you have cut out cos i think they are great. I'm sure your son would love it because it is star wars and becuase you made it. It took me ages to be happy with the design of mine and changed it so many times. I stuck it all together with blu tack first as I need to see what it looks like before I stick it all down.

  • Thanks for the comments, I think this is one I need to give up with. It probably wasn't a good idea to try and make it when I was in such a bad mood :( The idea of a pop up card is fantastic though and I found that dead easy and I think if I could have done a different design it would have been better. I might have to try it out another time.

Rusty ...the only thing that doesnt look right is the silver messing on the front.
Take that off an mount him on some white/silver or even green to match the border or change the border to match the matting block which you place the figure on and card I bet it will look better

The inside is fine just needs a happy birthday peel off/stamp

we are all far to critical of our cards when really they are fine.

Mumoftwo I love the dangly bit ...lovely card well done

Hi Saveapenny, I haven't finished it but I was defeated as it looks so rubbish! lol I think I will try and put darth vader on some lime green card that I already have and see if that works?

However it won't be for my son, Polly has very kindly offered to make one for me so I will use the one from Polly for his birthday. Thanks once again Polly, really appreciate it.
