Yes I've been crop a diling away!
It's pretty simple to use once you figure it out. The instructions are ridiculously vague if you've never used eyelets before (which I hadn't) I like the big gromlets that come with it too, can see a few more of those appearing on my cards... Oh and a pair of jeans I had that the zip broke on now lace up!!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Ooh Polly, well done you! I very nearly got to use a corner of the dining room as a craft room but decided it would be a bad idea being near the window the cats use as an in and out route... So I think I'm getting the under stairs space instead... Wish we had a spare room!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Hi
i've not done any crafting for a good few weeks, as i broke my little finger and was in pain, so using it was sore.
but i'm back into the swing now, and going to get back into the challenges.
Now i need a bit of advice.
I've been practicing stamping, and i want to know what pens do you all use for colouring in
thanks0 -
hi everyone :hello:
right bunbun a beginners guide to stamping it is
saint chris the pens you use depends upon the ink you're using to stamp. I use watercolour pencils (for this you need an alcohol based ink otherwise it will smudge when you apply the water, the best I find is Stazon) and pro markers (for this you need a water based ink again otherwise it will smudge, pref fast drying like impress so you can colour ASAP) I also tend to use a bit of gel pen with my pro markers.
ok bunbun, here goes:
most important thing to remember is take the ink to the stamp! so turn your stamp on its back and lightly tap the ink onto it, this way you should avoid splodges of ink. when the stamp is inked up you should place it really carefully on the paper, then holding with one hand sort of 'walk' your fingers across the wood mount/acrylic block.
the info on inks is above. there's a HUGE range of inks but so far I've only really played with Stazon, Ink It Up and Impress. All of these 3 are quick drying, good for impatient people like me :rotfl: Paper you just need either watercolour paper (if using watercolours) or smooth card if using markers.
Lots of ways you can colour your stamps - watercolour pencils, copic markers, whispers pens, pro markers and so on.
The best stamps to get to begin with are ones without too much detail so they are nice and easy to colour! Ones like the Magnolia Tildas, Penny Blacks, High Hopes, Whipper Snapper or Sugar Nellie.
Do you want to know anything about embossing or is that enough info? Feel free to PM me if prefer.
Hope this helps!!Disneyworld Florida in August 2011 :jLost so far: 0 lbs of 4stMother of beautiful son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy0
