I tried to use stamps at xmas but i made a mess whats the secrect and the colouring part do you just use normal felt tips?
I tend to use unmounted rubber stamps that I then glue stick to a acrylic block for stamping. If the stamp is clear it sticks withough adeshive. I then use ink it up pigment ink if I am not colouring them, or stazon ink if I am. Stazon ink will stain the stamp if you dont use stazon cleaner after stamping. You need an even surface and try not to 'rock' the stamp. So basically stamp onto the medium and while holding in place with one hand then firmly press the remainder of the stamp down. If you are using pre brought/pre mounted stamps (ie wooden ones) there is more 'give' in the stamp so preasure isnt needed.
To colour I use water colour pencils then add water with a fine brush. The cat one however was coloured with normal pencil crayons. Watercolouring is a fine art and I am only just learning. The bigest thing is the medium you use to stamp and then colour onto. If you get 'cheap paper/card' there will be lots of distortion in the paper while colouring, I tend to stick with bazzill card or water colour paper.
