Can anybody advise please.
I am looking at a new washing machine and the one I want is a very good price on the COOP internet site.
They want to charge me £14.99 to remove the old one and I seem to think they should do this for free.
Can anybody confirm this or am I in cloud cuckoo land (as usual).

It's up to them whether they charge, it's up to you whether you pay it or get rid of it yourself.
You could always try selling it on ebay, buyer to collect. Worked for me !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Scrap is fetching big money at the moment - leave it outside and I bet it's gone in the morning!!;)
Some firms charge more than that to remove old appliances. Also check out whether they charge for unpacking it, connecting it and removing old packagin etc. Some prices are just "drop off and left on your doorstep". Some also insist that YOU disconnect your old one and leave it OUTSIDE your premises.
Enjoy your new machine.0 -
i've got a dishwasher on order with a local independant & he's taking away my old machine for free.
i think these new regulations apply now don't they?
WEEE directive0 -
The regulations have changed on this issue and retailers must now provide a method of disposal free of charge, the new regs can be found on this link but I don't have time right now unfortunately to sift through the regs to find the right page but I've attached the link and its in there somewhere.
Hope this helps in some way
