Need some help!
We are basically looking for somewhere to go in June that is not too expensive and will be hot with nice beaches!
We have narrowed it down to either The Algarve Or Fuerteventura!
Basically i have no idea where the best places to stay are?
We would like to find a 3/4* hotel that is close (within walking distance to a nice beach) and if possible within walking distance to a variety of nice resturants etc
We also do not want clubs/bars/nightlife etc
Can anyone recommend any places in either The Algarve or Fuerteventura that will match what we want? Either that or recommend another country to go simular to what we need!
Thanks in advance!

Vilamoura, Algarve. Long stretch of beach, loads of restaurants around the marina, but not silly prices and not a Club 18-30 destination. Quateira is the old town adjacent to Vilamoura and caters for locals - lots of Portuguese restaurants.
Another bonus is it's only 30 minutes or so from the airport.0 -
Agree with daveyjp, there is no comparison between the two, the Algarve is lovely xGone ... or have I?0

Sorry - meant to add never been to Fuerteventura. No idea on the quality of hotels either as we stayed in an apartment. There are a couple of large hotels on the Marina - Hotel Dom Pedro and, Vila Gale.0

DMG24 - how about you?

We stay in a private villa so I can't recommend from personal experience, but Dom Pedro and Vila Gale do have excellent reviews xGone ... or have I?0

can anyone else help? I have had a look at the 2 hotels above and they are slightly over budget for me

We went to Oasis Papagayo in Fuerteventura (me, hubby and 3 kids) for a week last April. Fantastic weather (windy though - they call it the 'windy isle'). We went half board and it cost us about £1,500 for the week so not too bad. Town of Corralejo is within walking distance (about 20 mins) and has PLENTY of restaurants/shops etc - cheap to eat too. Beaches all around and the sand dunes (which are fantastic) are a 10 min bus ride.
Can highly recommend it !:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
ive been to both.
portugal has lovely beaches but may not be as warm as the canaries at that time of year.
cant recommend a hotel cos it was several years ago and i cant remember. dont rule our menorca (adorable) or some of the other canaries are lovely and may be cheaper.
happy holidays xxx0 -
Hi
I have been to both.. I thought the Algarve was quite expensive and full
of young people.
Where Fuerteventura has better beaches and the weather is great.
The South of the Island is better and the hotels are really nice.
Car hire is really cheap as well, great for families.
Go to http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ for help on hotels and locations, if you find a hotel you like look it up on here and you can see other peoples reviews on it.Comping & Coupons!0
