Nokia 3230 unlock codes PLEASE
Help! I have looked on all of the sites I can find, but they don't seem to list the Nokia 3230 that I have.
Its on the Orange network..
The IMEA code is 355399000312337.
Is there someone out there who can help me unlock it? I'm going away on sunday and have the new roaming sim card to put in it but it wont accept it!
HELP!!
Thanks a lot
Cindy

Bit of a difficult one this one....If the code doesn't work and your sure you entered it correctly do not try to enter it again as there are only around 4 attempts.Welcome, rogerramjet.

Thanks for trying to help! However, it didnt work.
I've now tried 4 diferent codes, so should I stop now? Will I get locked out of the phone completely if I carry on trying?
Do Orange always lock their phones? WHY?????? It's such a pain!0 -
Most networks lock their phones to stop you using it with a different provider. Although this could be seen as reasonable with pay as you talk as networks usually subsidise the cost of the phone, there is no valid reason for doing this with contract phones as you will still need to pay the annual cost even if you change the network.
With regard to not continually entering the codes, you have approx 5 attempts to enter the code with nokia phones (3 for the newer models) before it will not allow codes to be entered. The only way to unlock it then is by using the appropriate hardware and software.
I suggest you take the phone to an high street independent phone store or if there is a market near where you live see if there are any phone unlocking stalls. prices range from around £5 - £15 for unlocking the phones which is pretty reasonable when some of these people have paid in excess of £2000 to purchase the equipment to do this.Welcome, rogerramjet.

Thanks for you help.
I tried 1 more code, but now have made 5 attempts so am not going to try any more just in case it locks me out. I'll just have to use a different handset for overseas which is a pain, but......0 -
Did you ever post this request on the sticky Unlocking for Nokia's thread here for the MSE experts to help you?0
