I do have some savings left and I haven't spent much of my Olympic Challenge fund (and the money I have spent has bought me 'big things' like a nano and my new computer that I couldn't have had otherwise' but the saving something monthly and setting up a standing order to do it that's what I think I need to do, our ISAs have been neglected this year
Yorkie definalty do it... Imagine if you put £15 in your Isa each month. Its a small enough amount that you wont miss but after a year (not including interest) thats £180. Then if you drip feed the odd £10/£5 in then you could easilly make £200 that you may not have missed. Obviously if you need that money then ignore me but its best to start small then build up0 -
Right may day went a bit worng
my ebay items mum sent this afternoon, and they all cost more to post than I had put on the site  So after selling 12 items I actually 'made' £6.94 :rotfl: :rotfl: Well it all counts doesnt it? :rotfl: I must say though this time around all my items were weighed so i shouldnt lose anything on the ones ending next thursday

I used to put £50 a month in my ISA, it's got £2 in it now - was really useful while I was only on sick pay though so don't really regret taking it out.
It's amazing how savings can add up though. Good planning with the flatNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

Thanks again for your help with the Turbolister..... I've now got loads of listings on for free, and its way quicker than putting it straight onto eBay..... I love you!x'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -

A couple of tips that may help. If you send out a fair few items or items on a regular basis then hook up with a courier. I use Fastways and they have a basic label system. Brown labels are local to your postcode, red are national to other fastway areas and white are non fastway nationals. Costs are 2.95, 4.95 and 7.95 ( I think) the only downside is you have to buy books of 20 up front but the weight is up to 25kg for each label. I used to quote postage no more than £10 depending on postcode. Or you could just do a flat rate of £10.00 per parcel. I say £10 because if you only have red labels you can put 2 on the parcel in place of 1 white.

See if I am still single on my wage now the bank will only give me approx £40k now most studios in bristol are £89k~£100k. So obviously I am knocked out of the market but the grand dream is to have a place by the time I am 30. I am now 22 so technically i have 8 years... Now saving at £3.6k per year that will give me £21,600 aprrox give or take a bit...
. I know i did it once, but there comes a point where people have to stop and look at what their life maybe like in a few years time.0 -
That's a great tip for the courier.Hello everyone. Pap, my dd2 is interested in crafting, any tips for best place to buy stuff for her? We have a few shops in our area which sell lots of craft things and tesco is also selling things, don't know whether to just start there and see.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
