Citroen C1 Rythem - Has this happened to you?

A friends daughters Citroen C1 Rythem was parked in the drive with no-one near it when the rear window and break light 'blew up' and shattered the glass and broke the windscreen wiper.
The feeling was it must have something to do with the hydrolic lifting system, and the young lady is adamant that there were no previous cracks in the glass.
The garage are saying it has nothing to do with them and it is not covered off under warranty, so she is left with a bill for £300.
My thoughts are that if it was a fault, then it would have happened to others, hence the reason for my question.
Cheers David

Hi,
Yes, I have heard of it (we have an Aygo on order which is the same car. The Peugeot 107 is the same car too). I can't for the life of me remember where though, which is really helpful isn't it?
Trying to rack my brains where I might have read it and it may have been on the Toyota Owners Forum in the Aygo section. I will have a look now. If it is there you may have to register to read it.
I have been in and looked but there are 44 pages of threads plus another area with reviews, and I have to go out now. Sorry.
It may be worth registering and looking/asking in there yourself and any other C1 or Peugeot 107 forums.0 -
All glass is usually covered by your insurance, not the plastic light fittings tho'.;)0

Window/glass claims do not count as a claim that has any effect on your NCB, well not with all of the companies that I have used, check your policy.;)0 -

I don't believe the C1 comes with Hydraulic suspension.0 -

The story I read was where the back windscreen blew out while driving on a motorway. I still can't find it, sorry.0
