Cancellation of contract AFTER 12 months
I am a little puzzled as to why you still have to give 30days written notice to cancel a mobile phone contract even after the 12 month contract has expired. In effect any mobile phone contract seems to be a lifetime contract?
Does anyone have any experiences of difficulty when trying to terminate a contract after the initial 12 month term? Is there any way around this?

The 12 months is the MINIMUM length of the contract within which you may be charged for cancelling the contract. The contract basically stays in place until you cancel by giving 30 days notice. Its not just mobile phones, my NTL contract is exactly the same.Nokomis wrote:I am a little puzzled as to why you still have to give 30days written notice to cancel a mobile phone contract even after the 12 month contract has expired. You can give the 30 days notice (30 days) before the 12 months is up. Otherwise you will have a 13 month contract. Not even wrong0

If you wanted you could get the contract and write in straight away to cancel it after your 12 months is up then it will automatically be cancelled.
Only downside, is you forget you already did it and suddenly get cut off after 12 months :rolleyes:0
