Hi. Was wondering if anyone had any advice? Just tried to book 15 seats to Palma @ £77 for next Feb and the website says too many people and tried to redirect me to the group booking site - which doesn't work! So made an enquiry with group Bookings and the girl came back and said she could do at £115 per person!! So I said I would do 2 lots of bookings online and she said when I make the first lot of bookings and go back in to do the second lot the price will go up dramatically? How true is this???

I would suggest that's one thing that R******, the Irish airline, have got sorted. You check-in online and input the API data there and then. When I forgot a couple of weeks ago, they just caught up with me (and others!) in the boarding queue and asked me to fill in a form.

bmibaby still live in the past and don't have online check-in for flights to Spain.

EDIT: On second thoughts I'm not sure why they chased me at the airport! I've just checked and all the info was on the boarding printout so I must have input it sometime!

Why do people have to give API data every time they book.Surely this must be on record.

You've got me there, the details you give does say when the passport started, and when its up for renewal,so there is no need to give the same details in every time you fly.

Maybe the Data Protection Act prohibits retention of the data - or the airline thinks it does, or doesn't want to go through the procedures to allow its retention. (the last being the most likely)
