BMI Baby Flights

I booked 2 return flights to Malaga with BMI Baby yesterday but they didn't request the passport information that I know all the other airlines request when booking a flight to Spain. Does anybody know why?? Do they e-mail yiou closer to your departure date for this information?? I couldn't find any info on their web site either regarding this.

It would seem that Bmibaby collect the API at departure airports. The following is from the FAQ section on their site
why do I need to supply my passport information if I’m travelling to Spain?
The Spanish government has announced that APIS data (advanced passport information service) is required to be received by the airport authorities for all flights/passengers arriving into a Spanish airport including infants. bmibaby is required to collect and submit this information in order to combat serious crime, acts of terrorism and to facilitate your safety and security. Any passport information that you provide to us is retained solely for this purpose. This information is collected at the departure airport:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

Yes, it is very easy to collect the information at check-in, and doesn't take much longer than a normal check in, you probably wont even notice they've done it!
Most airlines do collect it on the website for convinience but the truth is that if they dont for any reason it is not a massive issue. Its just that a certain Irish airline seem to make a huge deal out of it that everyone gets worried

Thanks everyone - I guess the certain irish airline and also the Big Orange one may do it due to their 'quick turn around' - those are the two airlines where I have had to supply the infor upfront recently. Cheers.:beer:0

I would suggest that's one thing that R******, the Irish airline, have got sorted. You check-in online and input the API data there and then. When I forgot a couple of weeks ago, they just caught up with me (and others!) in the boarding queue and asked me to fill in a form.
bmibaby still live in the past and don't have online check-in for flights to Spain.
EDIT: On second thoughts I'm not sure why they chased me at the airport! I've just checked and all the info was on the boarding printout so I must have input it sometime!0 -
True, but then I need to take a suit case with more than 15 kgs measly weight limit.;)

Just booked 5 seats from LHR to Majorca next May (24th - 4th June) for £540 return.
Considering I paid £484 last July for 4 seats + infant charge for roughly the same time this year I think thats great value.
Book quick is my advice as the oil price will go up and we all know what happens when more seats get taken. It's far better to be penny wise than pound foolish.
