Help setting up wireless router for Tiscali
Comments
-
Appreciate the help, we are both now up and running via the wireless router.
Bought an ethernet card for £10 - works a treat.
Thank you.One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -
I hope that you have encrypted your wireless network to make it secure using WPA-PSK. If not get yourself a long random passphrase from here and copy and paste it into a notepad file for making set up easier so that you can copy and paste it into the router and any PC's that you want to connect. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I've had my siemens gigaset wireless router for 2 weeks now and still cant use it wirelessly despite numerous emails and lengthy phone calls to tiscali. It wont accept the WPA code on installation, says incorrect, although I've done it accurately numerous times. Its case sensitive but all numbers anyway. Anyone else had this problem........... any solutions?0

Just tried to install one for my Dad, despite 70 min call to 0871 still no connection. Given up & re-installed wired broadband - total rubbish. requested a router by different manufacturer 'cos I've installed mine & a friends with no problems.

This seems to be a real ongoing problem and there are obviusly issues with this router. See here: http://www.tiscali.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=2003974#post2003974 and here: http://www.tiscali.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=2010726#post2010726
Tiscali have issued these routers in return for a year's contract, so they are obviously obliged to replace them. There is also the safety issue of the alarming temperature they can reach.0
