If there are any, it might be worth popping into the shops alongside this shop, and asking whether they know what's gone off or where the owner is. It might come to nothing, but generally neighbouring shop owners know each other so they might be able to help - at the very least, they might be able to tell you if he's ill again.0

The neighbouring shops haven't seen him for at least a month, and have had other customers go in and ask about him...0
