in Water bills
Hi
I live in a three-bedroom flat, but on my own. I would like a water meter, but the water board said I can't have one due to the piping.
Even though I live on my own, I'm still billed as if there are three people in the flat and the water board has refused to give me a 'single person's discount'.
Is there anything I can do please? I only use one of the rooms as a bedroom, so can I say it's a one-bedroom flat?
Thanks.

Hi
My friend is in similar position to yourself.
You can ask to have an assessed charge for your bill rather than RV, check suppliers tariff on their website.
Assessed charges vary darmatically from supplier to supplier, some charge per person and others like United Utilities charge by house type
Hope this helpsSealed pot challenge no 5820 -
The size of your flat doesn't matter, it is how many people that live in the flat that determines the water consumption. You wouldn't use any more water if you lived in a 8 bedroom flat or a 1 bedroom flat.
Are you on an assessed charge currently? or are your charges based on your Rateable Value?
I thought you could insist on an assessed charge for a single person - and have the charge backdated to the time you applied for a meter, but was not aware that property size was used by some companies.
Put your request in writing and threaten that you will take the matter up with the Regulator.0
