This is their report
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/hpi/historical/feb_2008.pdf
It shows that the average price has dropped to around the time of April 2007.
This is still an increase year on year by 2.7%.
I do realise however that by next month the year on year go be equal or even show a decline, given the 3 month on 3 month is now negative (about 1% negative)
I understand how you say this is the glomiest yet, I found it funny however when the report also states that if the BoE central projection that the economy continues to grow is correct, conditions for the UK housing market are perhaps less gloomy than some would have us believe.
I wonder what the BoE will do in early March:wall:

Lower house prices would look good for FTBers.
Maybe you meant this for another thread which showed that lenders are now looking to only provide 90% mortgages i.e. a further 10% deposit required for FTBers:wall:

Not a lot, Inflations creeping up again!Aggressive rate cuts in the coming months were unlikely, according to Nationwide's chief economist Fionnuala Earley, but the economy was much weaker than it was a year ago.0 -
As someone pointed out on the fool website, if prices stay flat now, this index will be showing year-on-year falls by June.0
-
it will go yoy negative by april.
just in time for the CGT changes. It's a health benefit ...0 -
As for the land registry figures, I don't think we'll see YOY negative until the end of the year, even early 2009 because of the lag times.0
