Baxi fire fronts

I've 'inherited' a house with a well-serviced Baxi back boiler system, but a truly awful 70's-style fire front (gas fire attached to the wall thingy). After much web browsing, it seems a decent looking replacement is around 900 quid!! (just for the fireplace!)
Does anyone know of alternatives? (Even looked on ebay, at least they're about 80 quid there, but still all quite old)
