I have recently been knocked back by Abbey National for a student account stating I had a bad credit history. I do have a poor credit history, but it isn't terrible.
Are there any banks that don't perform credit searches for student accounts? According to this: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=6136416#post6136416
the suspicion is that some don't.
I'd appreciate any advice.

Hmmm...
This might be a question best asked on the credit card board since it's loaded with a few real experts.

Especially with what has just happened in the financial world I doubt you'll get an account without a credit check.0
