Evening all, have to say, this thread brightens my day - everyone is so encouraging and optimistic. £16.52 for me today and am desperately trying to keep the momentum going, we are away for a week in March so need to get ahead now if I'm going to make the target.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

Well, I managed to do a matched bet today! Used my freebie, so counting the money lost in it (a lot, its what they call SNR, blah blah) and a tiny amount lost in the first one, the qualifier, plus betfair's commission of £2.30, I made a total of £39.36! Will be off to add that to sig in a mo.

Asset - I know I rattle on about matched betting, but I couldn't tell you what to do in relation to what to bet on. Other than a fondness for my home town team, and David Beckham, I have no clue.

But you must be betting on SOMETHING! I did do a bet tonight on a football team and just chose one with the smallest odds - my account shows £5.67 up from a £4 bet so it looks like it won - finding it very hard to navigate around the Betfair site, so from what you said they charge a commission........ does that come out when you withdraw? This is hopeless for me - just want to do simple bets to use up the £10 to get the cashback!

Sorry, havn't been around much - very very busy at work and family!
Anyhoo, not doing badly between Quidco, mystery shopping, clicks, a win on the £1 bingo and my dad keeps giving me £2 coins cos I mentioned a couple of months ago that I am saving them. He's given about £40 in the last eight weeks!! Am up to £46.35 so far and have 3 high value mystery shops lined up for the rest of the month. I keep paying the £1 bingo in hope that I'll have some more wins. Someone has to - might as well be one of us. ;)

[KC splutters into her tea....] but... but....

The thing is, I only know what to bet on because of its relationship with the odds on the other site, and since you're not doing matched betting, thats of no help to you. If literally all you want to do is use up the money, then it doesn't matter what you bet on, absolutely not - Liverpool, Chelsea, match odds, half time, goal scorer, whatever, why should it matter? The commission is paid if you win at betfair, and since it sounds like you won, it will already have been deducted from your account - at the top left of the screen is the My Account button.

If you don't want to choose your own bets, you could do worse than go to the "No Chat, Just Tips" thread on the Gambling Forum.

But be warned, Asset, what you're doing is called mug-punting in terms of the matched bettors, and I understand you're doing it for the cashback (tho, I have to tell you, that was my £20 betfair cashback paid today, and I joined in November) but folks on that board are understandably wary of encouraging people to bet for the sake of betting.
