Just adding to the old post :)

You have to re-apply for a logbook. No charge with a Cat C, although you still have to pay £25 if it's a Cat D.

Also remember that a Cat C car will have to be inspected by a VOSA centre before being allowed back on the road. You cannot just apply for the log book and drive it.

I don't think you need to apply for new log book, (obviously long as you have the old one)

Subject to meeting the normal rules of the road you can just carry on using both cat C & D without doing anything. The fly in the ointment for cat C is that you can't get a new logbook or tax until you go through the VIC

A trader friend of mine bought a 2004 54 plate Vectra 1.9 CDTi Club spec with 30K on the clock recently for £400, allit needed was a new door....

If its a cat C it has to have a Vic check to prove its not a ringer, I think that will be £41 at your local inspection site.

yep, but you can use it before you get the VIC as long as it has current tax, you can't re-tax or get new logbook without the VIC

Also, there is often a waiting list, last couple I know about were 5 or 6 weeks
