Lending money to friends & family

you are very welcome wish there was an easier way,,, its so damn hard when money owed would help you in your circumstances and me ,,,,

just so many selfish people in this mad world of ours but until you get stung you really do not realise how devious people can be,,,,its sad,,,,

i cant think of anything else other than sell a high value item or use it as gurantee for any loan , but then that also is a bit scary to do

in one way its taught me so much and hopefully my daughter is getting to understand about all and be a bit more streetwise,,,,mind you she got caught out with a friend only this past week or so, finally got the money back and yet the supposed friend went off in a bit of a huff after my daughter kindly asked when she could have her money back,,, in no way nasty and yet you would think it was my daughter who owed the money!!!!:mad:

however,,,,,BIG RESULT,,,,,, MY daughter now will not lend that person anymore money and has learnt a huge lesson so hopefully never get into the problems i have with thousands being owed to me

Thank you for your reply i am so sick with worry now i have even had a number of local loan shark but he wanted £1000 per month back for 4 months to borrow the £1000 !!!
dont know what to do now i am so stupid for loaning all the money i had i cant believe i have done this to my child who counts on me for everything

pls pls dont go to the loan sharks,,,is there no family that can help you??

i wish i could think of something else other than ebaying any stuff?

can you tell us what you need the money for in such a large amount at short notice, can you not negotiate in bits to pay?

anyway if i think of any other avenue will leave a mssge ,,, keep positive and take care for now maz

Thank you for the reply no there isnt any family just the two of us and i did have a best freind until this happened i cant believe she has done this to me knowing how badly i need the money now she has promised it month after month until its now almost too late i went to her house today and begged her to return the money talking through the letter box she wouldnt even open the door to me

I have just had the last straw im going to have to go to the moneylender ive worked so hard to get myself through the bad times for her to do this there is no way through now cab cant do anymore and i cant lose our home there is nothing to sell on ebay i run such a tight ship and nowhere to turn and ultimately its my fault for putting my child in this position and that will be my only way but thank you for reading my post and replying i feel so alone

Can we ask whay you need the £1000 for?

going to a loan shark really isn't the answer whatever your problem, you're just delaying on bad situation for a very short time by creating an even worse one.

i have helped a friend facing eviction - why cant cab help ?

My daughter is nine and yes it is for rent ive been taken to court and to court and the landlord has an eviction order and thats it the promised money back never came which is ironic as thats why i lent it out in the first place i cant lose my home here its all ive ever known

so im guessing is it private rent? then if they evict you with the eviction order cant you take it toyour council and see what they can do if anything?? have you seen the housing team at your council to see what options you could have??

there surely must be some other way,,, have you spoken to any other organisation other than cab,,,what about shelter? or nationaldebtline?

Thank you again i have been there tried that done everything not to lose my home because of her but i had told the landlord so many times the end of this month and then she let me down i dont think he believes me
thats why i have been trying to get the loan to pay it off in one go as a last ditch attempt notto lose our home but i cant get one and have no one to stand as guarantor so thats it
