When you call them don't ask for a quote. Say to them that you have had an online quote and would like to make sure of the particulars before going ahead with the policy. Don't mention at all that you think the policy is in any way wrong or too cheap.
I think IIRC we had this once for a bike policy. Hubby called to check particulars and when they took his name, postcode and DOB they quoted another price entirely. Hubby argued that he had a ref no and could they check it. They did and the guy was surprised at the low price but accepted it after a little persuasion.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. We had the same thing, while renewing a 07 plate Ka for a 19year old driver, 1 years clean license, no claims, was quoted £156, so paid it in full and got all the policies through, a week later we have received a letter saying they priced it wrong at their end, and have cancelled our policy, for no reason other than they screwewd up, so we now have no money to pay for the insurance as we have subsequently spent the rest saved up in the meanwhile. NOT IMPRESSED.
Can they just cancel it for no reason other than they have screwed up?0 -
Of course. No reason is needed for cancellation (though in this case you know why - they made the mistake which you were aware of). You wouldn't want to have to give them any reason if it was you who decided to cancel mid term.
You will have agreed to the policy conditions which allow either you or them to cancel at any time (probably by giving 7 days notice).
Maybe you can find another policy that will allow you to make monthly payments.0
