Pics of my kids on bebo!

Theres a woman on Bebo who has pics of my kids on her profile!

She an ex of my Dad, but even when they were together i disliked her (ive known her longer before she went out with my dad) and would never have given her permission to use my pics in that way!

Shes blocked me on bebo, so i cant message her & ask her to remove them. Ive contacted Bebo many times, and have had no response

what the hell do i do?

Who took the pictures? If she was not the one behind the camera when the pics were taken, then she does not own the copyright in the picture. If you can get the taker of the picture to contact Bebo and threaten to sue them for breach of copyright, then I'm sure they can come down lickety spit!

Otherwise, from a legal standpoint, its a bit tricky, I'm afraid, and don't really know what to suggest if Bebo won't help off their own back. Is there anyone (apart from your dad) that you know in common, who could maybe ask her to take them off on your behalf?

Are the photos on your bebo too? I've had this problem too..with a randomer taking photos of me (I was standing with a band member)...you think she could have at least cropped me out of them!!LOL....If bebo aren't doing anything about it then I'm not sure where to turn next, sorry!

I deleted all my photos from bebo and reloaded them with my name across them so if anyone takes them they have to crop if they want them to look like their own..and hopefully alot of folk wont bother now! And I found some of the band member ones on the internet!...gits!!

Ive just sent a message to someone on her friends list. they are photos my dad took, and he cant contact her either

It just feels so unfair that i have no control over photos of my own children

You need to contact Bebo's ISP and inform them that the images breach your copyright. Request they are removed within 7 days.

As the copyright holder you can obtain an injunction against the Internet service Provider that is hosting your image, under regulation 6(1)(c) of the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 No. 2013[4] (reg. 27; new ss. 97A, 191JA of the 1988 Act)

Her dad owns the copyright not her, but otherwise, yes I agree with the advice Pulliptears has posted, but you'll need your dad on board

She has blocked my dad from contacting her, but i will get him to complain to bebo as well. i have sent them about 6 emaisl so far, requesting their removal but no luck yet!

It's not her your dad need to contact though! She sounds like she wouldn't give a toss even if he did! Your dad needs to contact Bebo and tell them that they are in breach of copyright by allowing her to have these photos on her page, that he is giving them notice that they are in breach of copyright, and that if they don't rectify that breach within 7 days, he's going after them (not her) in respect of this. Hope that now makes things clear.

You clearly don't like this woman, but if you want to solve this problem, you are going to need to separate out your personal feelings from what needs to be done. Nothing that needs to be done involves you contacting this woman in any shape or form (unless your dad refuses to get involved with Bebo), so stop worrying about how she will react when you do. This is a straight legal issue with Bebo.

There is abit on bebo that doesn't let people copy photos to their profile but they can still left click 'save as' and have it on their computer..then upload from there...not sure why I pointed that out!
