Asda not long delivered :T .I'd ordered 5 bags of quorn nuggets on offer at £1 each but they only had 2 and substituted 3 of them with quorn pieces. Not exactly the same but I'm happy because they price match and these sell at £1.98 each lol.I will just have to get the nuggets next time I'm in store :) Of course I have plenty anyway as I have been stockpiling.

Oh and they rang to ask if they could come earlier as they were in the area.I only placed my order at 4pm yesterday and it was here just after 10am this morning.Free delivery code used too :)

Embarassed to say that my average grocery budget for (me, my OH, my 4 kids between 13 and 7) and 2 cats (in that order) is a whopping £850. This is based on a years actual spend figures.

This year has been slightly inflated by some stocking up on non perishable BOGOFs - :money: would be proud. so I am going to set an initial target for March of 800, with a view to getting it down to say £650 by July

    Do I get a number ??

Glad to join the challenge & Good luck everyone

    Mark

    Hiya Mark,

    Don't be embarrassed!

Having said that, we were spending £650+ for the four of us and one cat so I know how you feel!

You're doing it the right way though by reducing your spend gradually rather than plcking a random figure out of the air.

I find the amount I spend has a direct correlation to the amount of thought and planning I put in. The more organised I am, the less I spend.

    Good luck hon,

    Love Jacks xxx :D

PS We don't have numbers but there is a list.

PPS What was that programme with Patrick McGoohan bellowing "I am not a number! I am a free man!?"

Think I must be pining for Mastermind or summat, cuz I feel the need to ask plenty of questions:D

First, what is 'homity pie' & can you explain how to use mysupermarket & ipoints please GetSortSarah [aka GSS] Do you actually order on mysupermarket, or does it just tell you that Bloggs Beans are cheaper in another store? Sorry to be so thick, but with the poota playing up anyways, I don't want to get the blame if summat else happens:eek:
    :o

    Hi,

Homity pie is basically mashed potato, cheese and chopped onion, put into a pastry case and baked, more cheese on top - comfort food indeed! Easy peasy and not as boring as it sounds - you could put in some herbs, pepper etc and I'm sure there are other variations but we love it fairly simple - peasant food - with plenty of veggies.

If you join iPoints, then shop through My Supermarket, it does compare prices etc but also then sends your 'basket' through to the supermarket's website for you to check out, and you get iPoints depending on the amount you have spent - these are then redeemable for gift vouchers etc.

    Hi all

Jacks stand strong!!! You have to report back to us all remember!!

:D Will do honey. I've got my militant head on remember? ;)

Also... While I'm here I just thought I'd brag about about my lovely son. :D:o

Bless his little cotton socks... For Mothers Day he bought me grow bags and bulbs and seeds for growing our own garlic, onions asparagus carrots and potatoes etc How Old Style is that?!

See. They do listen to us banging on sometimes!

    Love Jacks xxx :D

PS And my daughter made me a card that says on the front

"Have a break on Mothers Day and I'll take over for you"

and inside it has lots of quotes such as:

"Ooh! You should have got that through Quidco!"

    "Don't forget the voucher."

    "It was on Special offer."

    "I'm running down the cupboards"

"Turn those lights off - It's like blimmin' Blackpool Illuminations in 'ere!"

"That's very kind of you young man, but we're already on the cheapest tariff."

"No-o-o-o! Store cards are the devil!"

Hmmm... They're not indoctrinated much, my kids are they? :rotfl:

Hi, I've been lurking for a while, but not joined, cos I think my budget rules are a bit different. Basically I allow £45 per month for me and OH, but calculate things over a 3 month period, so if I bulk buy something (just got 6 months supply of tea bags!) it doesn't make that month go way over target. (If that makes any sense!) Can I still join you? If so, please Mrs M, can you put down that for Jan/Feb/Mar I'm up to £130.25, leaving me just a fiver, eek! But have made all the evening meals and sandwiches for work for the rest of the month, and have enough porridge and HM cinnamon syrup to do breakfasts, so I think I'm still on track.

    Ta muchly,

    Weezl x
