Quick update on the posting info. I called envirofone and they stated that you send the phones to them at your own risk and they advise sending them recorded.
As for claiming money back from Royal Pain for damaged items I have done this in the past and they only offered me 2/3 of the total amount. After 6 months of complaining to them (showing them the receipts) and arguing with them they refused to pay out anything but 2/3. So bare that in mind when dealing with them.
As for the point about is it worth it for £12.77. Don't forget you only have to send the phone and battery back to them. The charger, earphones, sim card, etc can be sold on eBay.0 -
I wasn't referring to the hassle of buying the phone and mailing it to envirophone ... just the fact that they may change their price at any time, and since they base their prices on store prices - this argos offer (which is relatively new) this may affect the price on envirophone. Plus price may change after mailing the item to them ... so you may end up losing ...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It no surprise that companies like envirofone in the UK have become interested in mobile phone recycling. In Japan Eco-System Recycling have found that a ton of discarded mobile phones can produce up to 150 grams of gold, whereas ore from a gold mine produces on average 5 grams per ton.0

This is pretty shocking, you are missing the point and doing amazing damage to the environment to make a few quid - there is being thrifty and just plain ridiculous.
The point of Mobile recycling is to protect the planet, as well as being a money making enterprise - but that doesn't work when you abuse the system like this. Think of the environmental cost of not just recycling it, but also of the transport involved...0 -
Sorry for the stupid question.
But do they accept phones that work also? I have a nokia n95 that i would like to sell, it was a contract upgrade. Does that matter ?
Thanks.0 -

Yes they will accept, no it does not matter if its an upgrade. For a N95 your probaly get a better price if you sold it yourself.
