I got the same policy in a reply from Tesco Customer service ...but my tesco (metro) still have different rules re moc's

Had a funny conversation today with a Tesco SA (young bloke):

Him: Er, did you buy this Marie Claire thing?

Me: Er, no.

Him: (hands me the vouchers back)

Me: I thought you take them even if you haven't bought the product.

Him: Mmm. So you want to use them then?

Me: Yeah!

Him: (scans all the coupons)

I went to a young lad last week, and handed over a pile of all different coupons. he scanned a few, then said, "i dont think I can take all these"
he turns to the crotchety old bag ata his adjacent till, (who always looks like she hasn't had a man for the last 50 years and has just lost her life savings to northen Rock. I NEVER use her even if her till is completely empty because you just KNOW she'd give you a hard time.) and says, "Can I take all these?"
"No, definitely not" she says
I rolled my eyes skywards and patiently explained to the young lad that they can take them provided they're all differenty and in date and the store sells the product

The old bag says, "No you can't, ring for a supervisor"

Supervisor duly comes up, lad asks can he take them, she says, yes provided they're all different, all in date and the store stocks them. lad says "We can take them all soandso". Old bag refuses to even look round.

I said to him, some of them are jealous; you'd think they were redeeming the coupons out of their pay packet and he laughed.

Idiots!

I always look for smiling young lady on til or a spotty youth who keeps chatting up the lass on the adjacent till, uglys only give you grief and invent reasons to not take coupons.I had one last month who would not take LVs.

i wouldn't go so far as that. I don't think it's the uglies, it's usually the oldies who refuse them.

Its times like this when I thank Tesco I worked there for 6 years & know almost everyone who operates a till, never have any problems, some of them even tell me when new coupons are due out!

thats a bit harsh, thats like saying those that take a hour to put there face on in the morning will take an hour to scour each and every one of your vouchers, manners cost nowt
