£351 will get you a 17" Dell Vostro Core 2 Duo which already comes with 2GB of memory. I think deal has another couple of days to run.

I'm not too sure about the difference in performance beteween the Toshiba's T5450 CPU and the Dell's T5270 CPU.
Any reason why its coming out at £428 for me?0 -

You need to deselect the "3 year warranty" option and select the "1 year warranty" option. This knocks down the ex-VAT price to £299. Shipping is free at the moment.
Obviously you can make a few upgrgades at extra cost to suit your own needs. The higher spec battery for an extra tenner seemed a good idea to me.0 -
What's Toshiba's laptop reliability like?
I bought one 15 months ago and the motherboard went last week.
I'm not saying Toshiba's laptops are not good.
Just wondering how reliable their laptops are.0 -
I've just noticed this is business too.
Can home users still buy it at that price0 -

Yes. Just make up any old business name when prompted for one.0 -
I believe you should use your own name as the business and when prompted scroll down to home for where laptop will be used. Apparently this is a way of protecting your warranty or something. Sorry for being vague but I have seen this in another similar thread.0

I've been using Orca memory (www.orcalogic.co.uk) for the past five years in my own laptops and in the company desktops that I work for, and thier support was excellent when I spoke to them.

Just for the sake of completeness, called ebuyer and there system says that the tosh laptop has a free slot (IE has 1 x GB installed rather than 2 x 512MB). But also standard ddr2 200 pin 667mhz 5300 memory should work. So with the extra memory it comes in at £364 delivered.0

Oddly enough mine died at 15 months too - the power thing snapped off inside the machine and it was more to replace the motherboard than the machine was worth. I wouldn't buy one again.
I am thinking about this Sony one, same processor, more ram, good sized hard drive and a lovely looking machine (I went and had a look yesterday) 499 less 5% discount voucher on hotukdeals.com and quidco. Available in Currys too - 5% discount plus more cashback
