Toshiba Laptop Core2Duo T5450 £344(£336 Quidco)
boatman

Toshiba are giving £50 cashback on various laptops, this one seemed a nice spec for the money. The only thing you might want to do is add another 1Gb of RAM (£13 from play) which is very easy. Better processor than others at this price and good size hard drive.
Toshiba Sat Pro A200SE-24R Core2Duo T5450([SIZE=-1]PSAE4E-047022EN). For more money off go through Quidco.

3 year Toshiba International warranty £47
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/93990 -
Am going to go for this one boatman, but the memory worries me. I don't know enough about memory to be certain, but when I plug this laptop into Kingstons "memory finder" it comes up with a £40 module rather than the bog standard ones offered on play or ebuyer for £13.
I want to buy from ebuyer as I'm getting a job lot of stuff from them, but don't want to get something which won't work. Any chance of some technical know how here? Which module will work? ( or is it a case of any 200 pin 5300 module should work?)
Thanks in advance0 -
Go to the Crucial Memory website and see what that shows.0

The models not on crucials at the moment. only on kingston (£40, different from the £14 module on ebuyer) and Orca (never heard of them) a bit cheaper at £190

£351 will get you a 17" Dell Vostro Core 2 Duo which already comes with 2GB of memory. I think deal has another couple of days to run.

I'm not too sure about the difference in performance beteween the Toshiba's T5450 CPU and the Dell's T5270 CPU.0 -
Thanks Vendee, I've been crossing my fingers for a similar (but suitably cheaper) Vostro 1500 deal cos I'm really not sure I want the 17" screen and accompanying weight. I'll have another look though to try and convince myself...0

I ordered the 17" for my son yesterday. He was also looking for a 15" but when I specced up the 15" Vostro to the same spec as the 17" (i.e. CPU, RAM, drives etc) it worked out £75 more expensive to buy the 15" over the 17" so although it was bigger than we wanted, it was better VFM so we bought it.0

If you go to the Toshiba spec link in the first post then click on the 'compatable options' then 'expansion' you should get to the memory options, if you click on one it shows all the Toshiba laptops that are compatible. You'll see by the list its just standard DDR2 (667MHz) memory.EvilMonkey wrote: »Am going to go for this one boatman, but the memory worries me. That link is for a 14" Vostro. The link for the 17" Vostro doesn't show any delays although time will tell I suppose.0
