Your property has a Rateable Value(RV) of £122

This means it was built before 1989 and is probably quite small.

For each £1 of RV you pay a charge for water and a separate charge for sewerage.

Your water charge is 55.36p for each £1 of RV(so you pay 122 x 55.36p) - this is much lower than any Severn Trent water charge so it probably means you are supplied by South Staffs Water.

Your sewerage charge is 84.91p for each £1(so you pay 122 x 84.91p). This is for sewerage and surface water drainage(which means that rainwater on garden/gutters goes into the sewers and not a soakaway)

If you can prove that your surface water goes into a soakaway you can get this charge reduced.
  • thanks for that

could you tell me what a soakaway is. P.s i dont have a front or back garden its all concrete. does this make any difference??

If the water from your gutters and garden do not go into the sewer, they go underground into a soakaway. Essentially this is a pit dug underground when the properties were built(or added later).

You will not see the soakaway as it will be covered over. Older properties tended not to have soakaways.
