Thats exactly what we have been thinking empty wallet. Today we are going to write a letter detailing every reason why having our car is important and like you suggest how she came up with her valuation of our car. Will keep you all posted......Bankrupt on 7th february 2008

I would also enclose a screenshot/scan of the Parker's guide showing the two figures, making sure that the fact one is the full retail value and the other is the private used value is clearly displayed (use a highlighter on it if necessary). Maybe that will hammer the point home that she's used the wrong ones.
Unfortunately, there'll always be one OR who mis-reads the info staring them in the face, so you will have to be the bigger person & gently explain where they've gone wrong with boulder-sized hints. If she still won't shift, take the matter up with her manager, but don't let her get away with assessing you incorrectly. You're BR, but that doesn't mean you have to accept everything that's thrown at you - you've still got the right to fair treatment.

Read the whole post and you will see apart from living in a village and not having decent transport(i live in a village so know what local services can be like)they also have kids that need regular hosp app.So the car is ess to keep them going, plus there seems to be some misunderstanding about prices.DalipFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

teabreak36 your OR obviously has no idea of a cars worth.
It sounds as if she has taken the dealers top price wich even a dealer would strugle to achieve so means nothig.
Remember the OR usually sell at auction so they would be luky to get the lowest book price listed on parkers on a good day, on a bad you could even half that and then there is the cost of selling it to take of that so i would contest it and insist they send someone to value it properlyThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

Its sounds like a case of the OR latching on to something that he/she things is wrong. Once they think they have caught you out thats it, they will be like a Maverick Missile.
The best bet is present your facts and evidence to show you are right.
