Weegie.geek thanks for the advice. I think I should go doctors but I don't know how they could help. I know that it is down to me to break this rut I have got myself into.

Yep, but they can help you get into the right frame of mind, or refer you to someone else who can. They might be able to help you look at your situation from a different perspective.
I think my depression is because I hate the way I lead my life - staying indoors all the time. But the reason why I stay indoors all the time is because I feel safe whereas when I go out I feel vulnerable, especially around men. I think its a vicious circle. And then I get even more down in dumps because the house is a mess and I just stay in all day and don't bother tidying or cleaning, so I'm my own worst enemy.

It's easy to blame yourself, but as you say you weren't always like this. Stuff happened to you, and it changed you. You need to get over it, as best you can. It was obviously some life-changing stuff, but fight back. Don't let it destroy your life, or your kids' lives.

There's loads of help out there for this kind of stuff, but you have to go to them. And like I said, the !!!!!!s will put you on a waiting list so it's better to get in there sooner rather than later.

Actually, the waiting lists are good in a way, because it reassures me that I'm not the only loony out there. ;)
I don't have any motivation, confidence or enthusiam and I have a very low self esteem.

I need to break this habit I have got myself into and I don't know where to start. I'm not packing up the fags tho, not just yet!

One thing at a time. :)
    I have a question. :)

If you want to tell someone something (don't worry it won't put them in an awkward position if you know what I mean ;)), how would you go about doing it?
I want to desperately tell someone something but I don't know how to. I don't want them to see me any differently. :(

    xx

If whoever it is is worth telling whatever it is, they won't see you any differently. I'm not even sure I just made sense. :o
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

if there a true friend, they will see you for you hun, and nothing else, just be honest, and communicate ;)

    xx

    I did something today.....
I made that call...rang work, and got the area manager of the phone, turns out he is in our branch this week, ended up speaking to him about my boss, and of course he is her boss. He was great, made me feel at ease, calmed me down. and we have came to a kinda compromise that me and said boss will have a meeting to discuss the situation, and try and sort it out civilised. have to admit this does daunt me, as the feelin of bein in a room with her is a bit unnerving , but the assistant manager will be there too. its all gonna happen when i get back to work on the tuesday :eek::eek:

I see we have some rockers on the thread now.

If I can recommend Porcupine Tree.

WARNING! They will change your life.......just ask Sazzy. I corrupted her :A

I think the thread needs renaming to "Depression Support and alternative music chat" thread. It seems to be about 50/50 recently. :D

I was on 8 month waiting list at rape crisis centre and I saw counsellor for almost a year, she was great. Helped me through alot and yes you're right I have got to fight back!!!

I know if I ring the RC centre they will see me for a "coffee and chat" within a week. I think I'll ring them, they are the ones who are specifically trained in this area and will hopefully help me start making some positive steps.

  • I'm off now, I feel I have made some important steps this evening. I have definitely earned myself a well deserved cuppa and a cigarette. Give me 5mins and I'll be stood outside my back door shivering having a fag. I don't smoke in house because my eldest son got bad asthma.

    Thankyou to all of you.

    Speak to you soon x

Fingers crossed. If it doesn't help it doesn't help, but it's worth a go. It's a free cup of coffee at worst. ;)

If it's not gonna put them in an awkward position then why should they see you any differently? I take it the person you wish to tell is a good friend? Invite them over for a cuppa and a biscuit and tell them there is something you want to tell them. Go and make the coffee/tea come back and tell them what you need to tell them.

Well, they aren't a friend as such. They are my project worker and I need some help dealing with some feelings I have and I have no one else to tell really and if I don't tell anyone then I am going to drive myself even more crazy. :(
