had a rather unusual experience with dfs... me and my g/f went to purchase a sofa and chair we had picked out on-line. we took cash and was ready to pay in full that day.
on arriving and discussion the man simply laughed at out money as if it was fake and proceeded to tell us that they cant accept that amount of cash.. I chuckled and said if you can sell it for that amount you can accept that amount... after much frustration they conned me into setting up finance which has ridiculous cons such as 80 pounds to change your address. after around 3 weeks i got a letter saying i must pay in full and it could be done in several ways. via visiting the store with cash/card or cheque or via telephone and post etc..
on arriving i saw the same man as before showed him the letter and asked why he said they would take cash. he they acted like it never happened.
and the moral of the story is i only have them 1200 instead of 2000. and i haven't heard from them in 2 years:D

I hate DFS and wouldn't buy from them if they were the only furniture store out there. I despise them. I know at least 5 people who've had rotten experiences with them, their prices are stupidly high, and what is the point in buying a sofa for £500 with no ruddy chairs? We have four in our family and have people around weekly too. Where's everyone supposed to sit?
What makes me laugh is how they say they have a 'sale' that's reducing the sofa from £2K to £650. Just goes to show how OTT the original price was.
We would never take credit - ever, and would only pay cash, so they probably wouldn't want our custom anyway. LOL;0 -

Sorry to be awkward, but what do you mean, you only have them £1200?0
