They'll only give you back the item cost (to you), not the price it sold for0 -
I don't really lose a lot anymore but my last couple of claims have given me back the ebay price my item sold for plus th epostage actually paid. On one occasion I got all that PLUS a book of 1st class stamps.
maybe they like me..or maybe it is to make up for them refusing to pay out for a couple of recorded delivery items a few years back.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thats good then for me!:rotfl:
I sold an item twice by mistake, when having a clear out,as the buyer had bought other things I did not want to disappoint them so went out and bought a replacment at more than she paid:o .
The whole parcel went missing so RM should pay me full price for that item!:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0 -

The value of the item, for the purposes of a claim against Royal Mail, is what the buyer paid for it, because that is its value. When anti-racism bands were popular, I sold some on ebay, and at the beginning they were going for silly money. One went missing, so I duly claimed from RM. When they wrote back to say all they would reimburse was the cost to me, ie £1.99, I took the matter to Postwatch, who took up my case. I said at the time, that if I had bought a pair of boots for £100 and only sold them for £25, because I had a purchase receipt for £100, would RM pay out £100? RM backed down and reimbursed the ebay sale price. Just because RM might know what the original purchase price was before it was sold on is irrelevant.0
