  • I currently live in Germany. I have kept my O2 Pay as you go SIM active. I pay £10 for My Europe through O2, this means its free for me to receive calls whilst abroad. It also reduces your call costs. On my PAYG SIM, I get a minimum of 300 sms a month depending on how much I top up. If I send a sms it costs 25p but if I send a mms it comes out my sms allowance, 3 sms per mms.
I also have a cheap way of sending sms if required. I use smsbug, I can send you the link via your mobile if you PM your number, you will get 5 free credits to try (the first 5 come with a smsbug tag at the end but the paid for sms are sent totally normally). I use this service when I have run out of my allowance. The smss are sent over GPRS, I send int sms, it uses 2 of your smsbug credits and your data charges which is about 2p. Each smsbug credit is €0.03. If you require any further info just ask.
  • Does anyone know if T Mobile still allow MMS picture messages to come out of the flext allowance? I am going abroad for 3 months and can't get out of my flext contract, so whilst away I will be giving £35 per month to T Mobile as I won't be able to use the allowance. I contacted them today and they said they can't reduce my contract to a lower price just for whilst I am away. Can anyone suggest anything?? Cheers!

It worked for me in Dublin just a few months ago - I'm on FlexT.
Any advice given is done so purely on the basis that it be taken as guidance and not a definitive answer to a question. If you are uncertain or confused, always consult your own legal representative.

  • you only get the MMS out of allowance on flext and my faves (if they are on one of your 5 friends list). Anyother contract or payg sim charge at normal rate (20p p/m)
